Responsible Gambling Awareness Week (RGAW) is held every year in May across Australia to raise awareness of the importance of responsible gambling practices.

RGAW is a partnership between government, industry and community that aims to:

• Increase community awareness of responsible gambling practices and strategies to ‘stay in control’;
• Reinforce the message that for those who choose to gamble, knowledge, balance and control are important to stay within limits; and
• Increase organisational awareness about responsible gambling practices and available support services.

The Victorian Responsible Gambling Foundation has unveiled a new campaign called 'Fight for the Real You'. 

The campaign marks a fundamental change in the strategy to reach and help problem gamblers, using real people for the first time.

The campaign promotes the 100 Day Challenge which is a new problem gambling website (fightforyou.com.au) where people can learn more about counselling options, find tips and tools for controlling their gambling and keep their own private diary.   read this>>

Legalwise Seminars are holding 'Liquor and Gaming in 2013' seminars in Sydney and Melbourne this March. 

These seminars focus on essential topical and practical issues in liquor and gaming in NSW and Victoria.

Senator Stephen Conroy has released the final report of the Department of Broadband Communication and the Digital Economy (DBCDE) on the Review of the Interactive Gambling Act 2001. 

The report recommends a national standard for harm minimisation and consumer protection to provide a consistent approach to online gambling regulation across all Australian states and territories.   read this>>

The Australian Gambling Survey has now completed collecting data for research on interactive gambling.

Funded by Gambling Research Australia, this project will help researchers, policy makers, and other key stakeholders gain a better understanding of interactive gambling and the people who gamble using the Internet, mobile phone and digital TV.   read this>>
