Bookmakers, gaming venues and patrons on notice this spring racing season (VIC)

Gambling inspectors will be trackside and in gaming venues across Victoria to target high-harm breaches during the Spring Racing Carnival. Inspectors will have zero tolerance if deliberate breaches are found and the VGCCC will take the appropriate regulatory and disciplinary action.

Government responds to The Star review (QLD)

The Queensland Government has released the final report following the review of the Queensland operations of The Star Entertainment Group, along with its response.

The Queensland Government has announced it supports in principle all 12 recommendations of this review.

External Review of the Queensland Operations of The Star Entertainment Group: Final Report

Queensland Attorney-General, Shannon Fentiman, has announced the final report from the external review of the Queensland operations of The Star Entertainment Group from the Honourable Robert Gotterson has been submitted.

The Queensland Cabinet will now consider the report.

Increased funding for racing industry (TAS)

The Tasmanian Liberal Government has announced that the funding allocation for Tasmania's racing industry will increase by 8% or $2.53 million, effective 1 October 2022.

The ACT Government has taken another step towards realising its commitment of reducing harm from electronic gaming machines (EGMs), with the release of a listening report detailing feedback on the proposed harm reduction measures of a $5 bet limit and $100 load-up limit for EGMs in the ACT.
