The Casino Legislation Amendment (Burswood Casino) Bill 2022 is to be introduced to the West Australian parliament today.  The legislation will give the casino regulator powers to address issues raised in the Perth Casino Royal Commission.

ACMA moves to block major illegal gambling website

The Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) has moved to block a major illegal gambling website.  Payments to the site are estimated to run into tens of millions of dollars with around 30,000 Australian visitors to the site each month.

Gambling regulations due to expire in Sept 2022 are being put out for comment. These cover gambling harm minimisation measures such as counselling services, allowable TAB shareholdings, and special exemptions. Individuals and stakeholders are invited to have their say between 25 May and 22 June.
